Description
This baby shark fin N° 59/273 in bronze is gold painted for a gorgeous effect.
Little memo: In order to raise awareness against the practice of finning, the artist Beli has created fins in monumental to mini sizes (HxWxD) 6 x 8 x 1 cm as part of the “BEautiful aLIve” collection. The mini series (H6) dedicated to Art Action has the particularity of being hand painted which brings a touch of originality to each piece which becomes unique.
A fin because “finning” or fin cutting and overfishing have not disappeared. Awareness, information and education can slow down this ecological disaster.
A special edition of 273 fins: the previous special edition of the artist’s fins (H9 and H11) was 100, a figure reminiscent of the 100 million sharks killed per year, a consensus figure accepted by both defenders and fishermen. But this time, rather than political correctness, the artist has chosen to take the highest number from the real and very wide official range (from 63 to 273 million sharks killed per year, excluding poaching), already relayed by Sea Shepherd. It will therefore be a series of 273 “baby fins” or H6.
A notch on this baby fin like on all the other fins signed Beli, because it is the symbol of the injuries inflicted on sharks by humans, injuries that affect the balance and biodiversity of the oceans.
A heart on the packaging, because Beli loves ♥ sharks, not only for their beauty but also and above all because they are essential to the good health of the oceans. Let’s protect the oceans, sharks are beautiful alive!
